Psychotherapeutic support group for men

On April 13, 2025, a unique psychological support group for men from the LGBTIQ+ community took place.

Held in a warm and trusting atmosphere, the group focused on the experience of emotions. The meeting brought together participants seeking not only new knowledge but also the opportunity to share personal experiences and learn how to better understand and regulate their emotional states.

Participants explored why difficulties with emotions arise, how emotions can be masked, and why the pressure to “always stay positive” can actually be harmful. Special attention was given to the concept of toxic positivity and its impact on mental health.

The practical part of the session was equally engaging: self-observation exercises, creating an “emotional web,” working with colors, and reflecting on the question “How do I feel sadness?” A particularly valuable component was the chance to try out a proven technique for working with emotions and thoughts — each participant could experience its effect firsthand.

“It was a warm and sincere meeting. It was important for me to feel that I’m not alone with my emotions and to gain tools for handling them better,” shared one of the participants.

The group concluded with reflections, takeaways, and an exchange of personal life hacks for dealing with emotions. After all, each of us is an expert in our own experience — and in a circle of like-minded people, new self-understanding is born.
