Young people from a modular housing settlement in the Chernihiv, participated in a Mentally.one psychological support group
On 2 July 2026, the Mentally.one project team conducted a psychological support group for young people living in one of the modular housing settlements in the Chernihiv region. The settlement is home to internally displaced families who were forced to leave their homes because of the war.
The session provided a safe and supportive environment where participants could openly share their experiences, reconnect with their inner resources, and support one another. Guided by Mentally.one psychologists, the young people explored the concept of motivation, reflected on their personal strengths, examined different areas of their lives using the Wheel of Balance exercise, and identified their own sources of resilience.
One of the most meaningful parts of the session was the creative exercise “My Playlist of Resilience.” Participants shared songs that help them cope with difficult moments and, working in teams, presented them through dance. This creative activity allowed them not only to express their emotions but also to experience a sense of connection, mutual support, and inner strength.
The most touching moment came at the end of the session, when one of the participants, holding back tears, said to one of the psychologists:
“Please come back again. We need meetings like this on a regular basis. Young people here need them so much. It feels like you’ve brought us back to life.”
It is for moments like these that the Mentally.one team continues its work despite the challenges of wartime. We believe that psychological support helps young people rebuild their inner resilience, find the strength to move forward, and know that they are not alone in facing their experiences.
