Psychotherapy Support Group for Women Held in Kyiv: “Working with Emotional Regulation and Inner Supports”
A Psychotherapy Support Group for Women, titled “Working with Emotional Regulation and Inner Support,” took place in Kyiv for women, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.
During the recent meeting of the psychotherapy support group, participants worked on body awareness, inner support, and emotional regulation through art therapy and reflection. This allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and resources for self-support.
The following effective practices were used during the meeting:
🔹 Light exercise – The session began with a movement practice that helped participants relax their bodies, get focused, and boost their energy.
🔹 “Drawing Trees” technique – Participants symbolically explored their inner state, resources, and emotional connection with themselves through tree drawings.
🔹 “My Supports” practice (art therapy using oil paints) – This method allowed participants to reflect on what gives them support and a sense of stability in life through creativity.
🔹 Discussion of Thomas Hübl’s text “What to Do When I’m Overwhelmed with Emotions” – The group explored practical ways to manage emotions, shared their experiences, and discussed personal self-regulation methods.
🔹 Discussion of the homework assignment “What New Things Have You Done This Week?” – Participants shared their experiences of stepping out of their usual routines and discovering something new in their lives.
🔹 Meeting conclusion – The session ended with a warm tea time, treats, and a group photo, creating an atmosphere of support and unity.
The meeting was held in a trusting and creative atmosphere, helping participants better understand themselves, their emotions, and their inner sources of support.
