A support group on “toxicity toward tourself and loved ones” was held

On May 24, 2026, the Mentally.one team held a support group titled “Toxicity Toward Yourself and Loved Ones”, dedicated to exploring toxic behavioral patterns, personal boundaries, and ways of building healthier relationships with oneself and others.

During the meeting, participants discussed what toxicity means and how it can manifest not only in interactions with other people but also in the way we relate to ourselves. Special attention was given to self-abuse, the habit of dismissing one’s own needs, dependence on the opinions of others, and difficulties in maintaining personal boundaries.

The group began with a discussion of how participants understand the concept of a “toxic person” and what examples of toxic behavior they had encountered in their lives. This served as a starting point for a deeper exploration of personal experiences and an understanding of how such dynamics can affect emotional well-being and the quality of relationships.

During the theoretical part of the session, participants learned more about the mechanisms of manipulation, violations of personal boundaries, and the tendency to justify behavior that causes emotional pain. The practical exercises “Instruction” and “Changing Thoughts” helped participants analyze their beliefs, rethink habitual reactions, and find more supportive ways of interacting with themselves and others.

The meeting took place in a safe and supportive atmosphere where everyone had the opportunity to share their observations and experiences. The group work contributed to a better understanding of personal needs, the development of healthy boundary-setting skills, and greater awareness of emotional well-being.

We would like to thank all participants for their openness, trust, and active engagement. Meetings like these help people better recognize toxic behavioral patterns, strengthen self-respect, and build safer and more harmonious relationships.
