A support group on “working with stress in the present and for the future” was held

On May 21, 2026, the Mentally.one team held a support group titled “Working with Stress in the Present and for the Future”, dedicated to understanding the nature of stress and developing practical self-help skills for challenging life situations.

During the meeting, participants explored how the body’s stress response works and why intense emotions often emerge not during the stressful event itself, but sometime afterward. Special attention was given to the physiological mechanisms of stress and how understanding them can help people better recognize their own condition and respond more effectively to everyday challenges.

The group combined theoretical knowledge with practical tools. Participants learned about evidence-based approaches to stress management, completed the “Safety Mirror” exercise, which helped them connect with their inner resources and sense of stability, and practiced techniques for increasing awareness of their emotional and physical responses.

A separate part of the session was dedicated to the art therapy exercise “My Stress — My Teacher.” Through creative activities, participants explored their personal experiences of stress, its impact on their lives, and the possibility of transforming difficult experiences into a source of self-awareness and personal growth. Body-awareness practices, drawing exercises, and dialogue with symbolic images helped participants gain a deeper understanding of their needs and discover new ways to support themselves.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of trust, safety, and mutual support. Participants had the opportunity to share their experiences, gain practical stress-management tools, and discover new resources for maintaining psychological resilience.

We would like to thank all participants for their openness, active engagement, and willingness to invest in their well-being. Meetings like these help people not only better understand the nature of stress but also develop effective ways of caring for themselves during challenging periods of life.
