Andrii Bogoslavets, a member of EcoNet Ukraine held a meeting with youth representatives of LGBTIQ+ communities in Ivano-Frankivsk.

As a result of the meeting, participants agreed to form an initiative group of LGBTIQ+ communities from among the active LGBTIQ+ members in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Members of Ecological network of Ukraine will actively participate in forming this regional initiative group and assist in its development.

The participants agreed that EcoNet Ukraine will provide technical assistance for the community’s growth, helping unite and rally around the idea of developing an inclusive ecological society, free from discrimination and stigmatisation. Technical assistance will include training, mentoring and development support.

The EcoNet Ukraine will also assist in writing projects and proposals to local and international donors to support the initiative group and community’s development and improve living conditions for LGBTIQ+ people in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, including internally displaced persons (IDPs).

With the participation of the initiative group, a focus group was held where participants discussed the problems faced by members of the LGBTQI+ communities in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and the needs they have as of October 2024.
