Psychological Support Group on Self-Respect and Building Healthy Relationships with Oneself

Another session of the psychological support group took place, focusing on the topic of self-respect and building healthy relationships with oneself.

The group was facilitated by two psychologists, Liudmyla and Oksana, which allowed for the integration of different approaches and created a more dynamic and supportive format.

During the session, participants explored what self-respect is, how it is formed, and which factors influence its level. Special attention was given to inner dialogue, self-criticism, and the impact of past experiences on one’s attitude toward oneself.

The session was held in two separate spaces. In one room, participants engaged with the theoretical part and discussions, while in the other, they took part in movement exercises and dance-based practices. This format helped participants not only understand the topic intellectually but also experience it through the body and emotions.

In a safe and supportive environment, participants were able to share their experiences, better understand their needs and boundaries, and reflect on how their level of self-respect influences choices in relationships, work, and everyday life.

The practical part included exercises aimed at developing self-support, recognizing personal strengths, and working with the inner critic. Participants had the opportunity to try new ways of relating to themselves and received tools for everyday application.

The session concluded with a reflection and feedback round. Participants highlighted the value of combining verbal and body-based practices, which allowed for a deeper experience of the topic of self-respect.

Such groups are an important part of psychological support, as they help strengthen inner resilience, develop self-reflection, and build healthier relationships with oneself and others.
