Support Group “How to Build Relationships 3: Maintaining Long-Term Relationships”
Today, October 26, the third meeting of the psychological group series “How to Build Relationships in the Community” took place, facilitated by psychologist Anna Ostapenko.
This time, participants explored the topic of maintaining long-term relationships discussing how to support a partner during times of crisis, stay emotionally present in dialogue, and understand their own reactions in close connections.
During the session, participants engaged in the exercises “Safe Distance,” “I See You,” and “Active Listening,” which helped them better sense themselves and their partners, practice empathetic communication, and become more aware of their emotional responses.
The discussion also covered traumatic reactions in relationships (“fight,” “flight,” “freeze,” “submit”), masks of sexuality, and issues of maturity and dynamics in partnerships. At the end of the meeting, participants shared their feedback, highlighting the warm atmosphere, the sense of support, and the opportunity to safely talk about personally important topics.
