A psychological support group session titled “Returning to Yourself” was held in Kyiv.
On June 8, a psychological group session titled “Returning to Yourself” took place in Kyiv. The event focused on the themes of personal uniqueness, inner resources, and authentic selfhood. Participants had the opportunity to pause, step away from the external noise, and turn inward — toward what is real, deep, and truly individual.
The meeting was designed as a space of trust and inner exploration. Participants worked with childhood photographs and symbolic objects, engaging in exercises that helped them recognize their strengths, talents, and inner resources. One of the most emotionally resonant moments was the “Onion and Pearl” exercise, which allowed for a fresh perspective on oneself — with acceptance, respect, and curiosity.
During the theoretical part of the session, participants explored why it can be difficult to recognize one’s strengths, and how rumination (intrusive negative thoughts) and hidden expectations can interfere with being authentic. Each stage was accompanied by practical tasks, group discussions, and personal reflections.
Participants shared feedback saying the group helped them to:
- reconnect with their true selves — the way they were before external expectations took hold;
- feel warmth and support from others;
- see themselves from a new perspective;
- find inspiration for their continued journey of self-discovery.
The session took place in an atmosphere of openness, care, and deep acceptance.
