Continuation of the therapeutic support group for women who have experienced trauma from violence.

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, a new therapeutic support group for women who have experienced trauma from violence was held in Kyiv.

Psychologist Eleonora Davtyan, a member of the NGO “Ecological Network of Ukraine,” gathered participants in a safe space where each woman had the opportunity to share her experiences in a secure and supportive environment.

The group was structured around exercises, discussions, reflections, and mutual support.

During the group session, the participants took part in the following exercises:

  1. Exercise for feeling each other in space
    Goal: Improve interaction, create an atmosphere of trust.
    Purpose: During this exercise, participants have the opportunity to feel part of the group, build trusting relationships, overcome distance, and experience the support of those around them.
  2. Exercise for reducing physical and emotional tension
    Goal: Relaxation, stress reduction.
    Purpose: To reduce stress and emotional overload through physical relaxation, which positively impacts the emotional and psychological state.
  3. Technique “The Line of My Life”
    Goal: Awareness of resources through key life events.
    Purpose: By reflecting on personal achievements and challenges, participants can identify their strengths, enhance their self-esteem, and strengthen their belief in their own abilities.
  4. Exercise for identifying resourceful activities
    Goal: Awareness of sources of energy and joy.
    Purpose: To help participants understand what sources of joy and energy exist in their lives, and how they can use these resources to overcome difficulties.

At the end of the group session, the participants were given a homework assignment: to create a plan for the week that includes three resourceful activities and a reflection on their emotional state.
